Dr. Sargent has served as the director of the Moody Blue Devils Band since 2009. He maintains an active schedule as a freelance musician and educator in our region. Prior to his arrival at Moody, Dr. Sargent spent nine years on the music faculty of Samford University, served as a faculty member at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan, and in 2017, served as director of the Alabama Lion's Club High School Band at the 100th International Lion's Parade in Chicago. He holds Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Science degree in music education from The University of Alabama. In his free time, Dr. Sargent enjoys being at home with his family on their St. Clair County farm.
