Spanish is a language that through the last few years has grown so much in the United States. This course will help your child becoming familiar with the great language of Spanish.
Course Outline
Spanish is a course which includes a variety of concepts of the language
- Concepts of Grammar: parts of speech, punctuation, verb conjugation
- Conversation in Spanish: dialogues, presentations
- Reading in Spanish: sentences, paragraphs, short stories
- Spanish History: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Bermuda Triangle
- Spanish Literature: Evita & Juan Perón, Roberto Clemente, Selena.
- Spelling in Spanish: alphabet, patterns
- Writing in Spanish: creative stories, dialogues, biography
Grade Scale
We will accumulate about 800 points each nine (9) weeks based on classwork, activities, quizzes, projects, and tests.
Make-up Work
I always allow the students to talk to me about any make-up work. I am in school by 7:40 AM in the mornings, so your child can come and talk to me if needed. It is your responsibility to talk to the teacher to find out what you missed in class.
Tutoring
Tutoring hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:40 AM or during advisory in my classroom.
Supplies
Each student must purchase a Spanish – English dictionary for class use.
Each student must purchase a colored pocket folder to keep all tests, quizzes, and paperwork graded given to the student.
