About the Teacher
Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated from Appalachian High School in 1992. After serving as my church's Children's Director for a few years, I realized that I wanted to teach children full time. When my youngest son went to kindergarten, I went back to college. I graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in the Fall of 2008.
Mrs. Christi Thompson
I have been married to my husband Michael for 23 years. We have two sons- Kyle and Trent.
Kyle graduated from Springville High School in 2012, and graduated from UAB in 2016 with a degree in Nuclear Medicine. He is currently obtaining his Masters of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School. He is married to Jules.
Trent graduated from Springville High School in 2017 and currently attends Gadsden State Community College.
We live on a farm in Oneonta, in the community of Straight Mountain.
We have a few "fur and feather babies": two golden retreivers named Sadie and Samson, two cats named
Catherine and Callie, three horses named Shotgun, Rose, and Bullet, several chickens, and a bearded dragon (he belongs to Trent) named Maximus.
If I ever have any free time it is usually spent reading or spending time with my family.
I absolutely love being a teacher and I am thankful that God has given me the opportunity to impact a child's life in a positive way every day. What a gift!
