About the Teacher
Degrees and Certifications:
I'm a 1989 graduate of St. Clair County High School. In 1993 I graduated from Auburn University with my BS in Animal and Dairy Sciences. I enjoyed 8 years of retail farm supply management before leaving the retail hours for more time with my family. I reentered the working world in 2004 as a clerk for the St. Clair County Board of Education. The next two years introduced me to education, from the perspective of teacher. A masters in Collaborative Education from UAB allowed me to begin my teaching career in 2006 as a member of the Springville Middle School family.
I love family, farming, photography, and cooking.
I was raised on a small commercial cattle operation. Auburn University allowed me to grow my love for farming and animals while introducing me to a love for Auburn family.
While on the 1993 AU Livestock Judging Team, memories were made, and a new family was in my future.
Kent and I married in 1996. We live in Ashville and enjoy raising cattle and hay in our spare time.
We have been blessed with two children, Ross & Callie. Ross keeps us busy with SHS soccer and football.
Callie loves to read and is an athletic trainer for SHS. We also love to travel when we have the opportunity.
Since 2006, the Springville Middle School family and students have taught me how to teach. I learn something new every day.
