Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Mike C. Muncher
My name is Mike Muncher. This is my second year as the band director at Springville High School and Springville Middle School. What a great place to be!
I graduated from Locust Fork High School in Blount County, and then from Samford University. Following that, I traveled way out to Stillwater, Oklahoma to serve as the graduate teaching assistant for the Cowboy Marching Band and percussion studio at Oklahoma State University (GO POKES!)
After receiving my Masters degree at OSU, I traveled back home and got back to teaching youngsters how to play music. This will be my 15th year teaching high school and middle school bands! Before coming to Springville, I was the assistand band director and percussion director at Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City, and Shelby County High School in Columbiana.
This year, my two girls, Zoey (6th) and Abby (4th) are able to join me in Springville. Zoey starts band this year, playing trumpet! My wife, Kelli, is a counselor at St. Clair County High School, and my son Max can tell you literally everything you every wanted to know about construction equipment and buses. And he's two.
This was a fantastic year with the Tiger Marching Band! Our show ¡Fiesta Del Fuego! was truly an exciting, expolosive experience! I love alliteration!!!
And we have other surprises in store for you!
Please contact me with any questions you might have about the bands at SMS and SHS! I'm quick to answer, and love to hear from my new community! Email at email@example.com.

HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT AUDITIONS:
I will send the music out this week. We will get these done some way. If all goes according to plan, and we return on April 6th, we will start those auditions on April 13th and try to knock them out quickly so the counselors can do their work. This may involve some after school appointments. Stay tuned for more information.
