B.S. Agriscience Education, Auburn University

Mr. Bradley Buckner

I have been a Purple Devil for most of my life. Starting Ragland School in 1977 and graduating in 1989. As an RHS student I participated in many extracurricular including Football, Baseball, Track and Field, FFA, marching band and concert band. It was through the FFA and a very dedicated advisor (Robert McHugh) where I discovered my love for agriculture. After graduating I began to pursue my dream and enrolled at Snead State Jr. College. After spending two years at SSCC I transferred my credits to Auburn University. Graduating in 1994 with BS degree in Agriculture Education I was ready to start my career. However, things didn't work out the way I planned. Ag Ed Jobs were scarce and competition for those jobs where great. For the next two years while looking for Ag Ed jobs I dabbled in a few other ag related fields. Starting a retail greenhouse operation in 1994 and a contract poultry farm in 1995. It was the summer of 1996 when I got a phone call from my former high school Ag teacher that he would be transferring to Ashville and Ragland would be vacant. I was hired that fall as the 5th Ag at RHS.

Family

In the spring of 1996, I married the love of my life Amy. She has blessed me with three wonderful children Evan, Logan and Bradlee-Paige.

Activities and Hobbies

I enjoy all types of outdoor activities from team sports to hunting and fishing with my children. I also love to travel and going to new places. My wife and I have been to 49 of the 50 states. After retirement we are looking forward to world travel. I also enjoy cooking and eating out.
