Mary Jo Cox
Hello and welcome to English Class, where learning how to properly use the written and spoken word can be so much fun! I’m Mrs. Mary Jo Cox.
I thoroughly enjoy working with students to help them reach their full potential not only in the classroom, but also in the community.
I enjoy building strong relationships with both students and parents and use sound follow through and problem solving to address special learning developmental issues.
I strive to advise and consult parents with proven learning structures to foster good learning environments in the home.
My background in teaching, television broadcasting, tutoring, theater, public speaking, and marketing offer a wide range of expertise that helps to broaden the classroom experience in a positive way.
I graduated with a 4.0 grade average from Jacksonville State University with a Master of Science in Education, Secondary Education, and English Language Arts.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television Broadcasting from the University of Central Florida and an Associate of Arts in Theater from Seminole Community College.
I designed a curriculum using Edmodo and NoRedInk, a computer based technology, to enhance not only the students computer skills, but also their grammar, reading, and analytical skills. Also, I completed the National Science and Math Initiative Training for Advanced Placement Academics.
My experience teaching 10th Grade Pre-Advanced Placement courses will offer students the ability to immediately begin with this course of study. Please know my door is always open and welcome to students and parents alike as we pursue excellence in the English classroom.
I look forward to working together with you to build strong study and test skills so that we may all enjoy bright futures in the days ahead!
