My wife, Laurie, teaches 5th grade at Williams Intermediate in Pell City. We have been married since 1989. We have two daughters. Our oldest, Cate', attends Faulkner University in Montgomery where she plays goalkeeper on the Women's Soccer Team. Our youngest, Laney, is a senior at Pell City High School. Laney plays club soccer at Birmingham United Soccer Association(BUSA), and also plays on the Pell City High Soccer team.

I take great pride in teaching and coaching at Ragland and St. Clair County. My father was the former football and basketball coach at Ragland High, and later Principal. He later served as Superintendent of the St. Clair County School System. My mother is a graduate of Ragland, and was a cheerleader. She was a third grade teacher for over twenty years.

There has been a member of my family teaching or serving as an administrator in St. Clair County since the 1930's.
