Mrs. Leann Ford

Welcome!

As a lifelong resident of St. Clair County and a product of the St. Clair County School System, I am excited to help our students prepare for their future career. I graduated from Ashville high School in 1993.  Several weeks later, I headed to "The Loveliest Village on the Plains".  Upon arrival at Auburn University I quickly figured out that I had probably chosen the incorrect major.  Several quarters later, I found my way and made a plan.  In December of 1997, I graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Elementary Education.  I was hired for my first position in 1998.  In the fall of 1999, I made my way back to St. Clair County and have been in the system for the last 22 years. I spent the first 13 years of my career at Odenville Elementary School.  In 2012, I moved to the Career Tech Center as a middle school Gifted Specialist.  I began working as the Career Coach in 2016. In January of 2022 I was hired as the Assistant Princiapl at RYAS.  The 2021-2022 school year begins my 24th year in education.

My husband, Mark Ford, is a graduate of Ragland High School and is the Principal at Odenville Intermediate School.  We have two sons who are also being educated in our school system. I have a vested interest in the students of St. Clair County.  I want to see our students graduate and become well-rounded citizens.

As the Career Coach for St. Clair County School System, my job was to help prepare our students for college or a career.  I actively looked for job and training opportunities for our students.  The unemployment rate in St. Clair County is very low, BUT there are still very good jobs to be found.  FAFSA, job applications, resumes, college applications, and interest inventories are just a few of the things I can help our students with.  Interest Inventories will help a student to see what careers match their interests.  (I have taken these inventories and they are very accurate.)

I want to see our students be successful.  Success does NOT mean you have a 4-year degree.  Success can come from accepting a job and going straight to work.  Success can be working as an Apprentice.  Success is different for everyone and everyone is different!
