Mrs. Holly Daily
Hi there! My name is Holly Daily and I'm the 8th grade World History teacher here at Odenville Middle School. This is my first year at OMS and and I am so thrilled to be here! I'm from Oneonta, AL and I graduated from Appalachian High School as class Historian in 2014. I graduated Cum Laude from Jacksonville State University where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in History (Go Gamecocks!) I'm also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the American Honor Society for History. When I'm not teaching, I love helping coach the 8th grade volleyball team and spending time with my husband, Houston.
My motto is "History doesn't have to be boring." My interest in history was sparked as a child while talking to my grandparents about what life was like when they were growing up. I loved learning about the music they listened to, their recolection of historical events, and about my ancestors. My love for history grew while studying Alabama history in 4th grade. My teacher brought the past to life while she taught and I loved walking through the avenues of time while we discussed topics like Reconstruction, the Great Depression, and the Civil Rights Movement. My high school American History teacher helped me realize my calling to be a teacher. She saw a person before she saw a test score, she listened before she spoke. I wanted to help and inpire students like she had helped and inspired me. I'm so thankful that OMS gives me the opportunity to do this everyday.
I love history, I love teaching, and I love OMS. Go Saints!
