Mrs. Holly Daily

Hi there! My name is Holly Daily this is my second year as the 8th grade World History teacher here at Odenville Middle School. I'm from Oneonta, AL and I graduated from Appalachian High School as class Historian in 2014. I graduated Cum Laude from Jacksonville State University where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in History (Go Gamecocks!) I'm also a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the American Honor Society for History. When I'm not teaching, I love helping coach the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams, spending time with my husband, Houston, and watching old movies on TCM (my favorites are Singing in the Rain, The Stooge, and anything with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers!)

My motto is "History doesn't have to be boring." Growing up, I always loved spending time with my grandparents and great-grandparents. I loved hearing stories about what life what like when they were growing up in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. I became a self-proclaimed "history nerd" in 4th grade when we began studying Alabama History. My high school American History teacher helped me realize my calling to be a teacher. She saw a person before she saw a test score, she listened before she spoke. I wanted to help and inpire students like she had helped and inspired me. I'm so thankful that OMS gives me the opportunity to do this everyday.

I love history, I love teaching, and I love OMS. Go Saints!
