    Alabama's Career and Technical Education programs are preparing students for success- for both the global workforce and postsecondary learning experiences.  We stress the importance of work (all careers) and career development for today's students- equipping them with the communication, time management, and leadership  skills necessary for a lifetime of success.

    Business Education prepares high school students for careers in the field of Business Management and Administration, Marketing, and Multimedia Publication and Design. Rigorous instruction is provided to equip learners with knowledge and skills for college and career readiness.  Extended learning experiences to enrich and enhance instruction is reinforced through learner participation in career and technical student organization, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and an on-campus student operated coffee shop which teaches students how to conceive, plan, design, market and sustain a small business.  Students will gain knowledge and understanding in Finance, Marketing, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Graphic Design, and Multimedia Publication. 

    Students will have the opportunity to earn Microsoft Office Specialist credentials in; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.  Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification is the leading IT certification in the world.  More than 1 million MOS exams are taken every year in over 140 countries.  It requires students to demonstrate that they have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to productively use Microsoft Office.  MOS enables them to tap the full features and functionality of the Microsoft Office system, resulting in heightened levels of individual performance, confidence, and differentiation. Students also have the opportunity to become Adobe Certified Associates in: Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.  Students will complete an online portfolio to showcase their work and accomplishments.  All students taking business classes are eligible to earn the honor classification of Business Completer.  The Business Completer will receive honor cords to wear at graduation and will be recognized on award's day.  To qualify for this distinction, a student must earn a total of three business course credits.
