This will be the second season for Saints in the Spotlight. Last year we performed Game of Tiaras at the CEPA Center in Pell City. The Spotlight program sponsored by CEPA helps schools create and maintain drama programs. I was a member of my high school drama club. My main goal for Saints in the Spotlight is to give students an opportunity to experience the many positive aspects of theatre. Saints in the Spotlight was recognized at the annual Spotlight Awards: Jailon James won Best Actor, Stephanie Dempsey won Biggest Ham and I was honored with the Carole Barnett Educator Award. This season we performed Breaking the News, a comedy by Don Zolidis that also let us explore the media's effects on our perceptions. In order to prepare, we toured WVTM 13's studio. I am so proud of our drama club members and I can't wait to start planning for next year! Encore! Encore!
