Mr. John Aaron Saxon is a graduate of Springville Schools, graduating in 2008. Since 2008, Mr. Saxon has been a member of the 313th United States Army Band, performing as a bugler all across the country and internationally. He currently holds the rank of Staff Sergeant and is the 313th Brass Quintet assistant team leader, amongst various other responsibilities. In May of 2020, he graduated from the University of Montevallo with a bachelors degree in Music Education, Magna Cum Laude. He was a member of the Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Trumpet Ensemble. He was under the tutelage of Dr. Joseph P. Ardovino while also receiving instruction from Ryan Beach, Nicholas Ciulla and William Denton.
Mr. Saxon is in his second year of teaching and teaches grades 6-12 instrumental music at both Springville Middle School and Springville High School. He is incredibly thankful and honored to be the band director at his alma mater. His personal motto is to be a life-long learner in every facet of life and believes every opportunity is an opportunity to grow and learn. He also firmly believes that failure and mistakes are the quickest way to success.
Mr. Saxon currently resides in Argo, AL with his wife, Nicole, and two children, Heath and Hazel.
