Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amy Pitts
I am very excited to be at Odenville Elementary this year as a special education resource teacher. I absolutely loved teaching at Odenville Middle School the past 4 years, but I am so happy to be back with "the little ones". I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's degree in Collaborative Special Education. I am certified to teach general education from Pre-k through 6th grade and special education from K-12th grade, which includes reading.
I have been married to my husband Bill for 4 years. I say God literally plopped him in front of my face when I wasn't even looking. He has been a true gift to my children and me. I have 3 young adult children. Haylee is an artist and designer, Wes works in marketing and management, and Carlie works a full time job, goes to college full time and is the mother of my granddaughter, Zoey! Haylee, Wesley, and myself all earned our degrees at The University of Alabama and Carlie is a senior there now. We are a part of the Alabama family in many ways. All 3 of my children were able to attend Alabama on a Bear Bryant Scholarship which Coach Bryant established for his player's children. While we were all so sad to lose my first husband and their father in 2012, he and Coach Bryant left my children a priceless gift. So your children will hear me say, Roll Tide quite often! I enjoy reading, watching Alabama, SEC, and Olympic sports. I also love the beach! I cannot forget to mention that I have a 10 year old English Bulldog named Princess Georgia!
I will work closely with your child, you, and your child's teacher to ensure your child gains knowledge, confidence, and the academic and social skills needed to be successful at school and in life. Please email me, send me a note, or call the school if you need to discuss your child's progress or needs. I look forward to a fantastic year!
