Chris Walters

Chris Walters was named principal at Moody High School for the 2018-2019 school year. Prior to this appointment, Chris served as the assistant principal and athletic director at Moody High School from 2015-2018 after starting the first Biomedical Sciences Academy in the state of Alabama at Hewitt-Trussville High School using the Project Lead The Way Biomedical Sciences curriculum beginning in 2008. At Hewitt-Trussville he served in a variety of capacities including varsity baseball coach, varsity football film analysis, freshman orientation supervisor, HOSA club sponsor, science fair coordinator, and Global Scholar site contact. He also worked as a manufacturing and quality engineering for Sanmina-SCI in Huntsville, Alabama from 2006 to 2008. Chris received a Bachelors of Science and Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Mercer University, Masters of Art in secondary science education from UNA, and a Masters of Art and Education Specialist in Educational Leadership from The University of Alabama. He is currently working on his dissertation to complete his Ph.D. in educational administration from The University of Alabama. Outside of school Chris has a wife, Brittany, and two sons, Christian and Carter.
