Bachelor's in History

Jarrod Jeffreys

Welcome to Freshman World History!

You may call me Mr. Jeffreys or Coach Jeffreys. This is Year 5 of teaching for me and my first at St. Clair County High School. I have previously taught in Autauga County and Chilton County, where I have taught ALL social studies subjects in grades 6-12 (PHEW!).

I attended Locust Fork High School and graduated from Auburn University of Montgomery with my Bachelor's Degree in History. I love ALL history but I have specialized in American History and have also done extensive research and study time in Asian History and British History. While a student, I worked at the Alabama Department of Archives and History, specifically in the EBSCO Research Room. I helped work on several projects that included gathering information for Alabama's Bicentennial Celebration, research on the "Clotilda" (the last slave ship in America that was scuttled in Mobile Bay), numerous genealogical studies, and various Alabama Supreme Court cases. Alabama History is very near and dear to my heart.

I am married to my lovely wife Kristin, and we have two children, Baylor (daughter) and Bodie (son). We enjoy camping when school is out and, of course, lots of swimming in the summer! We have 2 boxer dogs (Riggins and Roxie) and a pitbull (Hank). We're big dog people!

Fun facts about myself:

I cheered competitively in high school and I cheered on scholarship at Shelton State CC in Tuscaloosa, AL where I was 2X UCA College National Champion and i coached gymnastics/cheerleading for 10 years!

My sports loyalties lie with the Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves!

I am a HUGE Game of Thrones fan! I am currently reading through the books and I have a tattoo that reflects my fandom, with more GoT tattoos to come! I will close with a quote from Tyrion Lannister, "A mind needs books like a sword needs a whetstone if it is to keep its edge."
