I graduated in 2008 from Hewitt-Trussville High School. In 2011, I graduated from UAB with a degree in Allied Health Science. After working as a surgery coordinator at an orthopedic office for several years, I decided to go back to school to be a teacher. I graduated from Samford University in 2014 with a master's degree in Secondary English Education. I taught for five years at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School. I moved with my family to Louisville, Kentucky in 2019. In 2022, we moved home from Kentucky, and I look forward to teaching at Springville High School! I will be teaching English 11, English 12, Journalism, and Creative Writing.

I have been married to James Oliveira since 2011, and we have one son named Paxton.
