Welcome to my page! I am so glad you are here. 

I am Abigail Utsey and I have the pleasure of being a 4th grade teacher here at Margaret Elementary school. I teach my favorite subject, math! 

A little about me:

I graduated from UAB with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I also have my associates degree in Psychology. I love to learn and plan to one day earn my Masters degree in Education. 

I got married in June of 2023 to my wonderful husband, Caleb. We have 4 cats (Iris, Lexa, Monica, and Ross) and 1 dog (Joey). We both coach soccer at Springville High School and at the Springville Youth Soccer Association. We enjoy relaxing with our pets and watching our favorite shows together. 

My favorites:

I love to read and go for walks! I also LOVE Mexican food and coffee (not at the same time...ew), and, of course, I LOVE math!

My Teaching Philosophy:

I believe in creating a safe environment for students to grow, learn, and make healthy mistakes. I believe in second chances and doing work that we enjoy. I believe that as a teacher I am learning just as much as the students and that we all teach each other. I believe in clear and frequent communication between students and parents. I believe in respect for others and ourselves.
