All of my life I have enjoyed working with children. I started out early babysitting and helping at church. In college I was a camp counselor, volunteered to help tutor 3rd graders, and worked in a lab researching childhood aggressiveness. After graduation, I have worked as a senior child care worker with adolescents in residential care, as a behavioral specialist teaching life skills, and with adults with developmental disabilities as a life coach, supporting their efforts to live independently and assisting them to learn strategies to achieve their goals.
My passion is working with people, and I love the challenge of helping them to learn and retain new information. Teaching comes naturally to me, and I hope I am able to help teach and provide experiences for children to become passionate lifelong learners (both in and out of the classroom).
