Holli Smith
I am an Ashville native, so I'm very happy to be teaching at my alma mater. My husband Merrell and I have been married since 2013. I have a son (Zander) and two stepdaughters (Hallie-Kate and Bayleigh). I am also the sponsor of the National Honor Society.

Ashville High School – PreAP and AP English Summer Reading
Be aware that some books may confront controversial issues, explore adult situations, and contain strong language. As you read you may want to take notes, outline chapters, and do whatever works best for you to ensure you retain the material.
PreAP 9th Grade English
How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster (Revised Edition, Copyright 2014)
A few copies of this book are available for check out in Mrs. Smith’s room before the end of school. A writing assignment is to be completed while reading this book. It is due the first week of school. There will also be a test on this book the first week of school. Obtain a copy of the assignment from Mrs. Smith or the AHS office before the end of school.
