Mrs. Lindsey Willard

Hi! My name is Lindsey Willard! This is my 8th year as a kindergarten teacher at Moody Elementary School and I am looking forward to a fabulous year! The 2021 - 2022 school year will be my 8th year as a kindergarten teacher and my 18th year as an employee at Moody Elementary. I completed my first ten years as an instructional aide in the office, library, computer lab, and special education areas. I have been married for 15 years and have two little girls, Julianne(10) and Johnna(7). I am from a large family and I thoroughly enjoy working with children everyday. It brings pure joy to my heart to watch them grow and excel.

I moved to Moody, Alabama in the late 90’s and began attending Moody schools in the seventh grade. I graduated from Moody High School in 2002. I completed my associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Penn Foster. I continued my education as I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education through Western Governor’s University in the spring of 2013. I am also currently CPR/AED certified and have experience in both areas of Crisis/Safety Management and ABA Training.

I believe our future lies within the hands of the children as we have chosen to be responsible for providing them with an environment that will allow them to grow individually. Children are exceptional in their own distinctive way that requires a comfortable, compassionate, and inspiring atmosphere with hopes of them maturing and prospering emotionally, mentally, physically, and socially. My aspirations as an educator are to help guide my students to meet these areas of their childhood to their fullest potential. I believe my role, as a teacher is to act as a guide for my students at the same time that I wish for my students to be directed throughout their learning by their natural curiosity. It is my desire to create a safe learning environment that will promote respect in all aspects of life.
