Hello, Moody Blue Devils! My name is Katie Frost and I am thrilled to be with the Moody Junior High School family this year!
While it is my fourth year here in Moody, I am actually beginning my thirteenth year in education. I previously taught high school English, newspaper and Creative Writing, and I am so excited to be teaching 8th grade English here.
I received my Bachelors in Journalism from the University of Alabama in 2003 and my Masters of Secondary Education from UAB in 2010. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Curtis, for 15 years, and we have a twelve-year-old son, Sean, who is our pride and joy. We share our home with our rambunctious five-year-old French bulldog Lulu and a stray, Buddy, I rescued after someone abandoned him and his sisters at MJHS last year.
I love reading (especially mysteries) and writing, and I hope that my enthusiasm for both encourages students to try harder in the classroom. I strive to make learning fun for every student and to make them feel welcome and safe in my classroom. When I’m not teaching, you will probably find me watching Korean dramas or antique shopping.
Experience
From the fall of 2008 unitl the spring of 2017, I taught high school English in St. Clair County. While there I also taught newspaper and Creative Writing.
