Hello Friends! My name is Michelle Simmons and I am a first grade teacher at Odenville Elementary School. I am starting my 16th year of teaching. All of my teaching experience has been at OES. I have taught kindergarten for five years and starting my eleventh year teaching first grade. I am originally from Southside (Etowah County) but now reside in Odenville. I am happily married to Barry Simmons. Barry is a teacher and the head football coach and head track coach at Ashville High School. We have a beautiful 12 year old daughter, Haley Brooke, and our new bundle of joy, Emily Kate that was born in June. We also have three dogs, Duke, Bo, and Rascal and two cats, Toto and Tiger. We love going to church, spending time with our family & friends, watching Alabama & JSU football, watching Haley play travel softball, and playing with Emily.
I chose to become a teacher because I love to be around kids! Kids are so fun and they make me laugh! Kids are so special and unique! I strive to show love, encouragement, and joy to each student that walks into my classroom and even in our school. Kids are such a wonderful blessing and I am truly grateful that I chose to become a teacher!
