  • We will focus on The New England Colonies (week 9) and test on Monday (18th). Please refer to assignments for study guide and vocabulary.

  • With Friday being Fall Festival, we will have our SS test on Thursday. The Good news is that we are continuing with our Jamestown Settlement, Powhatan Indians, and previous learned subjects from week 8 newspaper. They may use their newpaper if they have it still, but we are using in class texts that will stay at school. I will upload the texts onto my assignment tab on website. I am encouraging students to write down notes from the text to study. Students will recieve a study guide and vocabulary words as usual. This will also be located under assignments.

  • (10/28-11/1) Social Studies

    We will continue working on personal narratives. Students will recieve a grade for their essay that will be graded using a rubric.

    Candy Crash is coming up very soon! Please donate any candy you can. Candy Crash will be from 5:30-6:30 October 29th. PE will have a dance that cost $2. You may wear costumes on Tuesday 10/29 (not too scary/no weapons or masks. We will not wear them on Halloween.

    Flu Vaccine Consent Form Going home today. Sign and return if you would like your child to recieve shot.

  • SS (10/22- 11/1)We will spend the next two weeks working on writing and digging deeper into week 8(What we just tested on). There will not be the usual vocabulary and study guide until November.

    Friday I sent home Fall Festival Flyer ($12), Candy Crash is October 29th (5-6) and you may wear family friendly costumes to school that day. No masks/weapons. PE will have a Halloween dance for $2. We are accepting candy donations and are much appreciated!

(Test Friday on vocabulary and newspaper highlightings)Please refer to my assignments tab for this weeks vocabulary and study guide. Study guide is not counted as nb grade, but this a great tool to study for test.

    In class they receive a nb grade each week for 1. Vocabulary 2. Activity in class 3. Current Event (use template in nb and look up on www.dogonews.com) 4. Crossword on newspaper.

  • September 9th-13-Vocab and study guide for week 3 is located assignments.

    We are focusing on cultural aspects of ancient American civilizations by looking at American indian tribes from different gographic regions. Test on ALL vocabulary words will be combined with week 3 test. Please use the online resouce to listen to week 3, answer questions, and watch additonal media to help.     We will NOT test using studies weekly this week. We will continue geography/regions, but we will not highlight or use week 3 newspaper this week. We will work in nb and receive grade through that and classwork. Grade two test will come home today(Tuesday). Please sign if score was 60 or below.

    Week 2-This week we continue with geography (States and Regions). Our test will Friday. Please study the vocabulary. Your child wrote this in their SS Nb and it's also located under my assignmnets tab. Please do not throw away this weeks newspaper until after the test.

  • Social Tests will be typicaly on a Friday unless stated otherwise. For the first half of the school year, your child will be able to use their newspaper. There will be vocabulary given that will need to be studied. These are not on the newspaper. You may access an online version and ask questions, etc. on www.studiesweekly.com
