Angela Mizzell
I grew up in Southside, Alabama and currently reside in Odenville. I am proud to be a part of the community I teach in! I am married to SCCHS graduate Jason Mizzell. We have 2 children, Jackson (17) and Natalie (10).
I love my job, and my goal as a math teacher is to help make math accessible to all students. Math is necessary in order to be college and career ready! I strive to help my students become confident mathematicians who can communicate mathematically and make real world connections to the math they encounter in the classroom.
I believe that a huge part of a student's success comes from their support at home. I enjoy getting to know parents and strive to make the school home connection a good one. I can be reached via email anytime at angela.mizzell@sccboe.org. Feel free to contact me with any concerns you may have.
Experience
I taught 8th grade math and Algebra I in Pell City at Duran Junior High School for 1 year. I am currently teaching my 19th year at SCCHS. I have also been a part time math professor at Jefferson State Community College.
I received my Educational Specialist degree, Masters Degree, and Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Academy. Roll Tide!
In addition to teaching, I am currently the SGA advisor.
