Fever: Temperature of 1000F or above, child should stay home and remain home until fever free without fever reducing medication for 24 hours.
Vomiting: Your child should not attend school if they have vomited in the last 24 hours. Your child should remain home for an additional 24 hours once they have stopped vomiting.
Diarrhea: Your child should not attend school if they have had diarrhea in the last 24 hours. Your child should remain home for an additional 24 hours after the last episode of diarrhea. Diarrhea is considered two or more episodes of loose stool.
Lice: If your child has live lice remain at home. Once live lice are no longer present upon evaluation and live louse treatment has been performed the student may return to school. The student must see the school nurse for an evaluation before returning to class.
Undiagnosed Rash: Your child should not attend school until the rash has been diagnosed, and it has been determined they are no longer contagious by a healthcare provider.
Pink Eye: This is highly contagious. Your child should be treated for 24 hours before returning to school.
We can treat students in the health room with soap and water, plain calamine, ice packs, petroleum jelly, 100% aloe, alcohol swabs, saline, and bandages.
Please keep our staff and the school nurse informed of any health conditions that could affect your child while at school.
